Comedy!
I'm pretty funny.
I've done two solo shows one called 'Glocknid: Dwarf Warrior' where I dressed up and did stand up comedy as a fantasy dwarf. The second show I did was slightly less weird, called 'HarleQueen' where I talked about female comedians from history. My third and newest show is called 'Dreamer' and in it I bring to life a screenplay I wrote when I was eleven years old, a powerful, post-World War Two epic called 'La Soupco'. So it sort of splits the difference in terms of weirdness. You can also catch me performing comedy around Auckland, in Snort and on the television shows 7 Days and Comedians Giving Lectures.
"The script has many twists and turns and an ending that will surprise everyone. Mostly because it does not make any sense.'" - Abby
In DREAMER comedian Abby Howells brings to life a screenplay she wrote when she was eleven years old: an ambitious post-World War Two epic romance titled 'La Soupco' (a word Abby made up, we don't know what it means either). DREAMER is about the dreams you have for yourself as kid and how to reconcile when you don't achieve them.
The show ends with an epic first ever performance of ‘La Soupco’, which has finally (twenty one years later) been given an ending.
From the creator and performer of the critically acclaimed and hilarious HARLEQUEEN - join Abby in her totally easy and very cool and fun sophomore show this November!
Other Shows I have done
They were quite good
HARLEQUEEN
2022 Billy T nominee Abby Howells weaves together stories of female comedians from history with her own tales of triumph, foolishness and heartbreak. In this award-winning show you will laugh, you will cry and you will not be impressed by Abby's ventriloquists skills, but she will do it anyway.
